National PI – AA Workshop in Treatment Centres – Different challenges, the same purpose!

Dear Fellow Members,

As part of its programme of activities, the National Public Information (PI) Committee is organising a Workshop dedicated to Public Information, with a particular focus on services in Treatment Centres.

This workshop will take place on 19 September, starting at 2.30 pm, in a hybrid format: in person at the General Service Office in Santo António dos Cavaleiros, and via Zoom.

We would like to remind you of our Fifth Tradition:

“Each group has but one primary purpose - to carry its message to the alcoholic who still suffers”

At this event, we will be joined by members from different Areas, with varied experiences and circumstances, who will share what they have encountered on the ground: the challenges, the difficulties, the ways of engaging with treatment centres, what has worked, and the lessons learnt along the way.

Rather than presenting a single way of carrying out this service, we want to listen, ask questions, reflect on and learn from one another.

The workshop will take the form of a relaxed, informal discussion, as a free-flowing conversation, helping us connect with one another, the exchange of experiences and everyone’s participation.

Different experiences and challenges, but always guided by the same purpose:
To carry the AA message to the alcoholic who still suffers!
